Today more people are planning small intimate weddings instead of the large formal affairs that have been popular in the past. With more people concerned with the cost of the wedding, a smaller affair can save some money and create a more intimate wedding for your guests.
A smaller wedding will still have the same amount of planning required to make sure that everything goes smoothly and according to plan. You still need a location for the ceremony, reception, flowers, music, food, decorations, transportation and all of those things that are a part of the wedding. One thing that will be different is what you choose to use for all of these items. For instance, you need to find a location for your wedding reception, but you may be able to use a friend or family members home for the reception and not have to hire a hall. You still need to find a place, however.
The cost of a smaller wedding will be cut by a large amount when you consider the amount of food and drink that is needed for the wedding. You may also be able to get away with attire that is a little less formal. The wedding dress doesn’t have to be a full length dress with a long train.
A smaller wedding, however, can be just as formal as a larger one. You can still choose the long formal wedding dress and hire all of the vendors for your wedding that will cost the same amount of money. The benefit of a smaller wedding is that you don’t really have to do it, though. You can hire someone in your family to take care of the music. The food can be made by family members who bring along something for your wedding meal. And the cake can certainly be made by someone in your family with a flair for cake decoration. It does not have to be as large or ostentatious as a three tiered expensive cake.
Many young couples are more interested in saving their money for their life after the wedding and spending less on the ceremony itself. As more people recognize that you don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a beautiful and memorable wedding. Look for ways to cut back on the expense and create a more casual atmosphere at your wedding. Your guests will enjoy themselves and you can relax and actually enjoy your wedding instead of worrying over every detail of the day.
Why not take the money that is saved on your smaller wedding and use it for a fabulous honeymoon. Think of where you could go with the extra money that you save by spending less on your wedding ceremony.
